I actually liked the unis, aside from the red.

I like the idea of playing in Carmichael. They've done a great job fixing it up. I saw it a few weeks ago and it looks like a new place. The only problem is that they dropped about 3200 seats out of the place, down to about 6800 or so. I also don't want them to tarnish the image of the place until they can have a team worthy of playing in such a history-rich place. Hopefully, next year's class gets them back to that. Homage or not, those "throwback" uniforms might need to be retired again. Let's stick with the traditional Carolina Blue and White only. They can jazz it up without the red. It probably didn't look too bad in black and white back in the day; in High Def, pretty crappy.

Those were the same uniforms they wore when they played Albany (I think it was Albany?) early in the season. They were "throwbacks" to the '57 title team, coached by Frank McGwire. He added red to the belt line because he was a snazzy New York dandy (and he paid players out of his own pocket)....and because when he got to Carolina, they were waaaay behind State and Everett Case. So, it was part homage.

Back to the topic of playing in Carmichael; season ticket holders be ****ed, Carolina should play at LEAST one game a year in the cozy confines of the Auditorium. The same goes for State and Reynolds.

yeah what was with their uniforms last night?

I have to admit it was pretty odd to see UConn and UNC, 2 teams from last year's Final 4, in the NIT last night. As much as it might hurt people's feelings to not make the Dance, letting your young guys play those extra tournament games helps give them more preparation for next season. Kentucky was in the NIT last year and now they are a #1 in the big tourney. UNC squeezed by W&M last night, which was a big worry going into it. UNC stinks defensing the perimeter, and every player on W&M can pop it. Last night's game really highlighted how terrible Ginyard is. How many times did he run behind a screen when there was plenty of space to stick with his man? It's so frustrating to watch that team do anything. The 2 Zeller steals at halfcourt were the only plays that saved that one. I understand they are working on Smith Center, but this year's team is so unworthy of playing in Carmichael, a place where UNC only lost 20 times in over 20 years. Glad they didn't screw it up. They may lose to Miss State but I was more worried about them losing to the quick 3 point shooters of W&M, especially knowing the coach was a UNC grad. One final comment on UNC - those were perhaps the ugliest uniforms I've ever seen (except maybe the ones Syracuse wears on ocassion).

FYI: For all of u tarhole fans they are getting ready to tip off a first round game in the nit against W & M. LMBDCAO!!

I bet Pitino's bunch puts Duke out in second round... that would make 6yrs since the Blue Devils have made to the sweet sixteen...

Also in the seasons 94-95 and 95-96, Dook lost 31 games total and 22 games in the ACC. UNC will likely have 17 losses this season. I just doubt they'll lose 14 next year to surpass Dook's valley of losses. And don't come back with how K took off to get his hips fixed. The players were bad and K knew it. Some of his personal records will always have an implied asterisk by them for those years.
