Oh, I wanted to add this..
It was rather odd at all the stares I was getting when I had to run to town earlier. Stopped by autozone to get some cleaning products for my car, and walmart to get some charcoal and corn on the cob..I think it shocked everyone that I was wearing my carolina shirt even after a loss. Every other person I passed gave me a strange look. Only saw one duke shirt though, he did a dbl take and kept walking, I found my trip as a whole quite funny.

614 in a row? Thats 3 in a row, just so you know, lol.
That game played out exactly how I figured it would, I hate to bet against my team, but duke was the easy cover today.
That being said, I hope we come out in the NCAA Tourny a little more resolved. Barnes is doing his part, not getting detered when a couples of shots don't fall, just keeps plugging away at it. Kendall needs a break, he is the heart of our offense and he has been sluggish and somewhat lazy the last few games. I think we will be ready when the first game comes up, the beating by duke today helps more than it hurts in the long run. It exposes what weaknesses we have with this lineup, the whole tourny did that actually, and it's something we can fix.

I agree Local, The Plumlees need to do exactly what they did today. I haven't seen unc get shut down like that in a long time. Good game for Duke, ACC Tournament Champions for the 19th tima and momentum heading into the big dance.

Your center really needs to show up in a first half for your team to have a shot to win a championship.

If Duke plays like they did at the end of the Maryland game and the whole game vs VT this should be a good game. That's the best they have played all year. They have finally figured out how to go inside and stop taking so many 3's which has killed them in all 4 games they have lost this year. If unc plays like they did against Miami and Clemson the ACC Tournament Champs will be Duke for the 19th time. unc's lucky runs will not happen against a better defense like Duke's.

In case people forget, seeing that was have 6 or 7 new unc/duke threads up now, I would revive this one.
Today is going to either highly annoy me, or greatly please me. If we come out in the first half in todays game like we have been the past two, we are done. We have had duke's number for 3 out of 4 halfs so far this year, but not by playing like we have been in this tourny. We have got to get back to transition offense when the time is right for it, but we also need to work on our half court offense. If we play as a group of players instead of a team, then we're done early. We have got to get back to playing like a rounded, well managed team. Kendall HAS to calm down. Yes, he has made some shot and played good..but he has let our team run amuck for long periods of time and we haven't had that go to half court offenseive set that we should have all game.
We need to get back to playing Carolina ball and now.
I hope for 1 of two things today.
1) We get back on track and be the team that dominates duke, win the ACC Champ and grab that other #1 seed.
2) We lose and get a reality check, go over all the teaching points this tourny has given, and ramp up for a crazy tourny.
I don't know which I want more, Yes the ACC Champ would be nice, but is if losing it to have a better NCAA Tourny is an option, give me the NCAA tourny.
If we can do #1, I think we can still go in and make the Final Four, but we won't make the sweet 16 playing like we did against clemson in the first half.

I will say this if unc puts two half's together like the first half of last night's game they will be hard to handle. Saying that if Duke puts two half's together like the did the second half look out for them as well. Curry came up big time and the Plumlee's stepped it up in the 2nd half as well. The game at unc between them should come down to the wire as well. I still don't see either team competing against Ohio State, Kansas or maybe even Pittsburgh. Only time will tell.

No excuses here either. Pretty much the same points that have already been hit on, proved to be correct. I stated that we would not shut down Smith, but only hope to contain him. We didnt do that at all, but we did do alot of things well. We limited duke to 8/26 from three, very well done. Most of the made 3's were contested, you just can't help when a player gets hot and see's a big hoop. Even as horrible as we played in the 2nd half, we were still there at the end, and thats alot better than most were giving us credit for. I'm proud of our guys, and if we could have hit a shot here or there, then the outcome might have been a little different. Not bad for a young bunch of guys that arent supposed to be any good in the most hostile enviroment in college basketball going against the 5th ranked team in the nation.

Razor, I don't usually post much until I get to work in the morning. I don't hide and if you look at my previous posts it went pretty much like I said. I thought the pre game line should have been 5-6 points - it was 6. I said UNC needed good perimeter offense and defense - they didn't. I said they needed to contain Nolan - that was impossible. I said Carolina needed contributions from MacDonald, Strickland, and Bullock -didnt get it. Somewhere along the way you think I talk crap like you tend to. I only make observations about the teams and tell it like it is. UNC did some things well in the first half, and then got it handed to them in a bad way in the second half. Roy was absolutely outcoached in the second half. Many times they were caught with the wrong match ups in the game and Duke took advantage of it. Nolan Smith is one of the great clutch players ever in the ACC in my opinion. Even with him lighting it up, all UNC still needed to do was contain the other perimeter shooters and they could have pulled through it. Curry was definitely key to the comeback. Duke did a great job of shutting down the passing lanes of Marshall and forcing him to drive and shoot - missed a lot of easier shots. Henson needed to stay away from the ball when the ball was out of the paint - he didn't and proved what a poor ball handler he is with a ton of walks and turnovers. Good win for Dook and something to continue to build from for Carolina. It is what it is.
