I read about Henson today.

6'10" (and still growing), with a 7'4" wingspan.

Sounds like a rebirth of the "triple towers".

I don't know how many here are keeping up with recruiting, but my God is Carolina gonna be LOADED in the next two years.

We got a commit from a four star out of Texas (6-10) yesterday (John Henson), and today, two 4* 6-10 twins out of California picked Carolina over UCLA.

Carolina is SO gonna own Dook. You Dook fans that were living it up during the DOH! era, well that's over now! The REAL basketball school is back on top. Oh yeah, Carolina *likes* it on top, baby!!!

I was wrong about McGrady, I knew he played at Mt Zion in Durham and thought he was from NC, he just went to prep school in NC.

Did I miss the point?

McGrady?

Where is the NC connection? Other than he was "someones" cousin?

If you could only pick from NC talent it would be tough. There has been a lot of NC talent though.

Jordan
Thompson
Burleson
Stackhouse
McGrady

It's nice to pull for a college that is representative of who YOU as a fan are. Most State and Carolina fans could walk onto campus at either fine institution and feel at home; a good number of Wake fans could do the same.

Most Duke fans (especially Wilkes County Duke fans) would be laughed off campus by the New Jersey contingent within the hour. Frankly speaking, if every team in NC could ONLY draw from NC talent to field a basketball team, they'd all suck.

Why does it matter where the players are from? If you want to pull for the school with the most NC students most likely that will be NCSU. Good luck in the ACC season. Go Pack!

TarHeel, I mentioned McCants in my dissection of Roy's history of not recruiting legit 3-point marksmen (with the possible exception of Ellington, this team has none...and even then, only on occassion is he reliable). Yes, I saw Lawson knock down two last night, but he was so open that he took the ball, put it on his hip, licked his finger to check the wind, and THEN shot it. I could hit one of those 2 he took.

Not that I expect many (if any) fellow Heels fans to understand this. I'm a fan of basketball first, the heels 2nd. As such, I am able to see the forest AND the trees. Most fans just see the trees, and understand little about the innerworkings of the forest about them.

Rashad McCants could hit the three pretty well. That might have had something to do with the 2005 Nat. Championship.

You might want to remember this name, too...William Graves. Now that Bobby Frasor is out for the season, he will be playing more. He probably has the best pure shooting stroke of any of Carolina's players.

Danny Green is finding his range, too.

In my last thread I referred to Duke's student body. If you are a die hard Duke fan, you need to go to their beautiful campus and see that the majority of the students are from out of state. Many of them are from New Jersey and surrounding areas. Don't fool yourself that you are pulling for a good old southern university. Also the diversity of the student body is very limited at Duke.
