Steve Robinson (currently on the UNC staff) had an abysmal stay at Free Shoes University. Jerry Green had a very good run at Tennessee (.710 winning clip), but recruited bad kids. Overall, a pretty crummy bunch.

Nearly as bad as Mike's bunch, from which I omitted Bob Bender, who drove Washington into the ground and Phil Henderson, who didn't do much succeeding Bender at Delaware. Let's be blunt; neither K nor Roy will ever produce a coaching tree nearly so deep and varied as the ones cultivated by Jim Boeheim and/or Coach Smith.

Probe, ummm....you really shouldn't be pointing out K's coaching shrub. Hat's off to Jeff Capel at OU, except for two points. He never COACHED with K, only played for him. Actually, his senior year was spent being coached by Gaudet. However, he has a roster of players he mostly inherited from Kelvin Sampson playing very well (and did a bang up job at VCU). Kudos on that. Mike Brey has underachieved at Notre Dame. Tommy Amaker destroyed Michigan basketball. Johnny Dawkins is doing a very poor job, thus far, at Stanford (who wish they'd waited a week so they could have gotten back Mike Montgomery, who is OWNING them over the Bay at Cal). Quinn Snyder razed Mizzou hoops, was a cheater, and now tools around in the D-League (where he has a sub .500 record).

And poor Pete Gaudet, who was being paid $20,000 the year he had to fall on the sword for the worst Duke team in a quarter century? At last check, he was coaching "big men" for the Vandy women's team.

Two last points:
1-Kansas had a talented team last year. Carolina rarely if ever played D well. Bad combination. Oh well. 319 other teams would have LOVED to have been beaten in the Final Four.
2-Like...Duke, who went down in the 2nd round. If K were such a great coach, shouldn't Duke have made it out of the first weekend the last two years? If he were such a great coach, shouldn't he be RECRUITING better players? He is, after all, in charge of what kids play at Duke. How silly of you guys to gloss over that fact.

Oracle, I'm not sure what dooks standards are of acceptance..other than being overly white and emo, but l got accepted into N.C. State with a 4.15 gpa and a few other places, although l didnt attend at the time..I went to Harvard on the Yadkin for 2 years and now I'm in the military.
Also, back to the gtprobe kid..l was stating stats from the 70's yes, but they were also up to 85', could have went on to 86 as well but l didnt.
If you werent even a thought in your parents mind in 86', then I'm sorry that it was later they made the mistake of having you..my bad!
