number 1, BUDLT you beat the only 7-8 squad in the ACC by 1 f'n point and shouldnt have won at all if that ginyard hipcheck would have been called. 2, duke hasnt played a real acc game yet..and once they get there the great white hope will fail..the Wolfpack will come back, 2 road games at the worst play possible, not done..

Well, it is a little troubling when you are a tall guy and you are being recruited to a major college and their "big man" coach is 5'9, slower than molasses, and in love with his other assistant coach.

Which would explain the lack of a true post player since Williams lucked onto the scene.

Grrr is stuck on the Wojo groove.

No 2nd line.

No 3rd line.

Um, Bud, unless they can swing a trade...they will have no inside game this season.

Or next.

Or ever, as long as the big man coach is...Wojo? Jeeze.

All the wolfpack can do today is sit by the hole and howl, cause they sure can't put the ball *through* it.

Another topic for Dookies: Corey Maggette was ineligible during his one year at Duke, haven taken money from an AAU coach/agent (Marlon Piggy) prior to enrolling at Faux Goth U. So, why, exactly, has Duke not vacated their 1999 runner up position? UMass lost their 1995 Final Four apperance over a similar incident involving Marcus Camby, and UCLA lost a 1980 apperance when Suitcase Brown was there.

Just curious is all. Enlighten me.

Joe, I think you are adjudging Duke on past accomplishments. They aren't an AWFUL team (for that, see: Louis, St), but they aren't a national title contender either. They don't have a servicable post player, and have had but one true, back to the basket, rebounding machine in K-Rat's time in Durham (Elton Brand), and another who turned out to be that in the NBA (Boozer...though, of course, he is a dirty lying rat fink liar, as anyone in Cleveland will gladly tell you). At any rate, this Duke team has no chance of cutting down any nets this year, though they could, possibly defeat UNC once if they are EN FUEGO from 3.

Otherwise, Tyler obliterates them inside unless Duke does the wise thing and goes zone. Which I doubt K-Rat will do, out of pride. ****pride, K-Rat; play zone or you get run out of two gyms. That, or send Henderson in with another flagrant elbow.

Ive always been a Tarheel fan, and I love that they are undefeated, but Duke does impress me because they are good every year. This year I think the Heels will either win both meetings or they will split meetings. My favorite player of all time is Jordan, of course.

Yawn. Maybe if K spent more time recruiting and less time making commercials, he'd land a recruit every month or so. Not four in five days like a certain Roy I could mention. Or maybe he could start recruiting servicable post players. They are going to get manhandled in the paint by teams in conference (I'm looking at Clemson and Carolina) who have effective post games. Maybe Paulus and Scheyer hit enough 3s to make up for the donut hole of a middle, but man; that's one big donut in Durham.

When living in NC I was asked this same question by many people.. Like I watch basketball or even give a ****.. haha.. I would always answer this way.. Well, EVERY dog my nana had was named Duke, so I wouldnt root for a team nana named her dog after :P And I must say THAT carolina blue brings out my eyes :D

No, they aren't. I've been over the nature of scheduling for various top level NCAA basketball programs. No one schedules exclusively "big" opponents out of conference, though a few schedule nothing but "cupcakes". Most, however, fall somewhere else on the continuum. Carolina's schedule is usually tougher out of conference than Duke's, and they do ACTUALLY play home-home series with teams. (No, playing a Big East team in Cameron Square Garden/Madison Indoor Stadium isn't a road game.) As I've said though, been there, done that.

Now we are to the part of the schedule teams can't manipulate...though the idiocy of ACC expansion has destroyed the round robin, and thus, left us without a "true" regular season champion, given that teams play disparate schedules. Glad to see that grab for football glory has worked out SO well (*cough2-6 in bowls cough*).
