wcbasketball, it's "you're", as in "you are". "Your" is the possessive form. I'm not exactly sure what college *you* attended...Go Cougars?

WC, I really don't think you know many "real" Carolina fans. You know the casual, Wal-Mart fans. Real fans know the deal here.

You missed my point Grr, and i probably didnt clarify well enough. To a lot of UNC hfans, it will be the biggest upset to them and it will probably have to be to a 16 seed like you pointed out...but I dont see that happening.

WC, it is fairly obvious that you don't have much in the way of historical perspective/experience when it comes to "biggest upset". These upsets, barring a UNC loss in the first round to a 16 seed, all supersede any UNC loss in the 2nd round or later:
1-NC State over Houston in the 1983 Title game 2-Villanova over Georgetown in the 1985 Title Game 3-Duke over undefeated and defending champion UNLV in the 1991 Final Four 4-George Mason over UConn in the 2006 Elite 8 5-Indiana over UNC (a team that featured Sam Perkins, Micheal Jordan, Kenny Smith, Brady Daugherty, Joe Wolf, etc) in the 1984 Sweet 16
If Carolina doesn't win the title, yes, it will be a monumental choke job, very likely stemming from a poor defensive effort. But it will not be the "biggest upset of all time"; of the 5 teams on that list above who lost, only the 2006 UConn team would NOT beat this UNC team like a rented mule.

Oh but it will be the biggest upset, trust me, but you guys will just think of some excuse, the goverment was probably involved or something. Your right Wake will not win the the National Title but they will make noise and they will have a good chance of winning it all next year.
Also, do not start sentences with "And", you must have went to UNC. I will agree UNC should win the NC, I dont see many teams stnding in their way. Good luck to you guys.

Bud, Frog has enough sense to know that when someone is correct, no matter how you feel about them, they are correct.
You would do well to learn such. Or take a long walk of a non existent pier, preferably while wearing cement boots.

RIght, I said "best". I'm not under any illusions it will be their last chance, but while Tyler Hansbroughs can be replaced athletically, its hard to find players with that much heart who want to stick around for all four years. Too many players leaving after freshman and sophomore years to achieve the level of maturity and adhesion evident in this years Tar Heel squad.
wc basketball, it's rather presumptuous of you to assume what will be the biggest upset in sports history to "UNC fans." You're obviously NOT a UNC fan, therefore you're not an emissary, so when you make statements like that it makes you appear (more) ignorant.
And it's not exactly going out on a limb to predict a team, no matter how talented, won't win the National Championship. There's a lot of luck involved, but I like our chances.
Here's my prediction...Wake won't win the Men's NCAA Basketball Championship.

It won't be the biggest upset in sports history; heck, it won't even be the biggest upset in Carolina history (the '84 team will likely always hold that distinction, bowing out in the Sweet 16 to Indiana).
But it WILL be a failure if they don't win the National title. Epic failure. Choke job. Or just really crappy defense.
As for this being the only chance this decade...UNCHeel....you might wanna check out Carolina's incoming classes the next 2 seasons after this. This might be the BEST chance....but it most certainly won't be the last.

IF UNC does not win he National Title, it will be the biggest upset in the history of sports, to UNC fans that is.
I believe UNC loses 1 conference game to Duke or Wake and possibly Miami but the win the ACC Tourney. I think Carolina will get "upset" again in the Final 4.

Having observed the impact of injuries, I'm a little more reserved in my assessment of what constitutes success and failure. Marcus Ginyard, a seasoned senior, is already out of the picture until ACC play starts, and while not the most talented player on the UNC roster, his contributions will be missed by those who understand what he gives. If Lawson should go down again, the entire complexion of the team changes.
Should Carolina be ranked #1? Yes. Does that mean they will win the National Championship? Unequivocally not. Last year's 36-3 record was pretty astonishing, but in a one-and-done tournament, it will be who is playing best on any given night. UConn, Louisville, Duke, Georgetown, and more won't be rolling out any Carolina blue carpet.
Having said that, it's pretty obvious that if Carolina does not win the National Championship this year, perhaps the best chance for the next (who really KNOWS) decade (?) will have been squandered. It's time for Roy to get it done, because the talent is there "en masse".

True, Frog "If they screw up", I'd expect Wake and Duke (if they can petition the NCAA to let their 3 pt line remain at 19'9, so they can continue to chuck with impunity) to be factors in the race for the top spot in the ACC.
However, if all 3 teams play fully to their potential? Every night? Carolina goes undefeated, while Duke and Wake are solid top 10 teams. Anything short of a National Title for this UNC team is an EPIC FAILURE; they are hands down the deepest, most talented team in the nation. That is not a matter for debate. However, you can debate whether or not they will be motivated to get key stops in March.

One quick football note. Duke had a great win on Saturday against Vanderbilt, considering that the Commodores have victories over South Carolina, Mississippi and Auburn this season.
