If, the Tarheels show up to play, should be a good game.

Kendal Marshall is all i am going to say....He's going to be the key to the game on both sides....if he can break down Dook's D, then my heels are in good shape...the plumlees are not going to be able to handle Henson, Zeller, and Knox all together...foul trouble is going to be critical tonight! Battle for 1st place in the ACC, Lets GET IT!

hopefully the UNC that has shot .511 from the floor over the past 5 games and .403 from beyond the arc in their past 3 will show up.

I, for one, have just had to keep in lurker mode for the most part. Work has been a beach (not the sunny, warm one). One statement I would make is that I'm a bit surprised that the line of the game is Dook by 10. I understand that they have won 32 straight at home, blah, blah, blah; but Dook has been struggling some lately and UNC has been rising up. The media reads too much into the loss of Drew. "Glad he's gone" is the appropriate response. I figured it would say Dook by 5-6 at the most. The game could go that way, but if the freshmen can keep from being so awestruck by Cameron's nuts, Carolina could make a run at Dook. If Carolina could possibly stick Nolan in the ground like they did BC's best scorer, it could be UNC by that 10. Freethrows crucial; perimeter shooting and perimeter defense crucial; maintained focus from the big guys crucial; contributions from Strickland, Bullock, and MacDonald crucial. Which Dook team will show up? Which Carolina team will show up?

Duke has always had that one guy, generally the point guard, who could will them into a win. Smith is one of those guys, and could play well at the next level. Before him it was Nelson.

I still say Carolina has better talent potential than Dook. The thing that has set Dook apart the past couple years is that Nolan Smith plays with such determination that he wins games by himself. He won a National Championship single-handedly last season. When he's a little off and the 3's aren't finding targets, Dook is totally confused. If Barnes plays aggressively, they get some perimeter shooting from the guards, and the freethrows are over 65%, UNC can beat Dook on a given day. Zeller needs to stay awake the entire time and Henson needs to keep the dang ball off the floor. With Drew gone, the susbstitution patterns will make more sense because Roy will no longer have to please Drew's parents with playing time. Drew was totally overrated as a defender. Roy gave him Defensive POTG 2 of the last 4 games to appease him for taking the starting role away. Kendall Marshall is a topnotch playmaker and passer; that's what UNC has to have in their system. When Roy and Dean don't have good play out of the point, they look like crap. When the point knows what the heck he's doing, the coaches look like geniuses. This UNC team will be a special one as the chemistry keeps mixing. Hopefully, they'll stay together long enough for it to come to pass. I thought Gminski and his partner stunk during the FSU game, but I do agree with one of their statements - Addition by Subtraction. The best thing that could have happened to Carolina was the departure of Drew. It forced Roy to play a better core of players. It may get pretty interesting this season if Roy lets them develop as a group of 7-8 together. If he starts screwing around with the rotations again, there will be ugly games. Strickland, MacDonald, and Bullock are crucial to keep it open and honest. Marshall doesn't need a whole lot of space to work, but he does need options.

Larry Who?

16 assist to 3 turnovers says a lot about how much well miss drew now that he's gone.
Carolina looked great offensively against the best defensive team in the country. Throw that in with being in the top 5 defensively ourselves, and it's looking pretty dangerous for anyone who plays us.
Before today, i wasnt ready to say we were back..but now I am.
Wednesday can't get here fast enough.

Drew walking out showed exactly what was wrong with the team last year. NO LEADERSHIP.

We went from having players that actually cared about their teammates with the Felton and Lawson squads, to Drew leading the team, who didnt care. Now we have a starting point guard that will play in whatever role he is needed and we are playing good.

Drew sure showed what kinda punk he is. Loses his starting job so he just quits on his teammates. Good riddance and dont let the door hit u on the way out!!!!

I havent tried it out yet, but im sure hoping it does on my phone as well.

Part of becoming and staying a good coach is the ability to evolve, and Roy has started to finally show that he can evolve into the type of coach some players need. We are on a nice hot streak right now and even anotehr loss here or there shouldnt deter this bunch of guys from playing well on into the big dance. They have saw for themselves how good they can be.

I agree with you Yanks. I would post more if GoWilkes would allow posting from iOS devices on the Sports Forum. Jason changed it for the Community section and told me that by the next Monday we would be able to do the same on the rest of the site. That was months ago. I appreciate the effort on the community part, but I am more interested in the Sports. I could post onsite from many events if I could use my iPhone or iPad.

Hope Carolina can keep it rolling with all the players and not go back to the games where Zeller and Barnes disappear. In the BC game, they went from a season with no leader to having 7-8 leaders. Every player on the team played well. Lots of assists, great defense, great movement off the ball, rebounding, shooting; everything was clicking. Roy's philosophy has usually been "no one guy can beat you", so he tends to let the other team's best player have his way. I think he finally understands that it might be better to stick that kind of player in the ground. Strickland did a great job of keeping an 18.5 ppg player frustrated for the entire game. UNC has the best overall talent potentially in the ACC; Roy (in my opinion) has utilized it very poorly for the past couple years. I hope this last game represents a coming of age for the coach as well as the players. They may still stumble a bunch along the way, but it's good to see them all play well and smile on the bench for an entire game.

UNC played that good. Like Yanks said they're still very young so hopefully they'll continue to grow and play to their potential the way they have the last 2 games.

I didn't watch the game because I don't watch unc play except for the Duke games, but I did see the score. I don't know if BC didn't show up or unc played that good. I think what r williams said about his team and their fans might have had an effect on them. Coach K might need to do the same thing if they don't show up to play again tonight.
