Tarheels are keeping someof the games close, at the end of the games there players have alot of energy left, just need to make those key shots. Im not making excuses, they are not the best team, as of now, but getting better. Dont forget, who there coach is, the great ROY WILLIAMS.

i am a duke fan ,but i think carolina will get their bearings greased in time for ncaa ,they always shudder some ,early part of the season ,roy is a great coach ,and i am glad he is in our conference ,duke ,carolina ,kentucky, and connecticut have more mcdonalds all americans than anybody ,john wall is good ,but he will be one and done ,that is the reason he is not at duke or carolina ,and if anybody wants to compare coaching just look at coach k 's olympic record vs ole roy ,and bob knight beats them all ,coach k's mentor ,last but not least i am hoping for a revival from nc state somewhere in the future ,that really makes our state and conference look good, and don't you love a 3 way rivary

mandyc, you couldn't have watched the tarholes game vs Texas, cuz if you did you seen Texas expose carowina at every position available even coaching for Gods sake!! unc has no guard play whatsoever and Texas scored inside withe ease against all those big bodies unc has, so before you trash Duke for losing a game at Wisconsin " which is a very hard place to win look at their records the last couple of years if you don't believe me" look at how weak carowina is at every position!! tarhole fans bring up SOS when Duke has had the hardest SOS the last couple of years but we never bring that up for a loss do we. Duke has lost 1 game to the tarholes 3 so please STFU for the sake of making unc fans look that more dumb!!

Trying to say that Duke has played a harder schedule is dumb and goes right with most duke "fans" that reside in Wilkes County, that have no clue what they are talking about.Even someone who knows nothing about basketball, going by rankings and scores alone could see that Carolina is well above Duke in SOS, it's not even a little close.I can not wait for The Carolina/Dook games, be time to shut y'all up again.Like i said a few times before, beat someone worth mentioning and then speak.Wisconsin beat Duke and They got beat by Gonzaga by 13, and lost to Green Bay...Duke is gonna have trouble when they start playing teams that can match bodies with them.

Check 5 different websites boasting "sos" stats and you will get what Budlight found..but those are different than the real rankings, bogus at best. Epsn and TeamRankings.com have a slightly different view, backed by much better(non biased and retarded) stats checkers.http://www.teamrankings.com/ncaa-basketball/ranking/strength-of-schedule-by-team Espn doesnt have it's Power Rankings up yet, but it's funny that Duke moved up one spot in the AP poll after 2 wins(one over a too highly ranked Gonzaga), and Carolina moved up one spot After losing to Texas.

Well the level of competition that the 2 teams faced were vastly different. Gonzaga doesn't compare to Texas. Gonzaga couldnt even beat Wake on their home floor.

John Wall is a terrific point guard. Like some previous posters, I also feel like he will be "one and done" and head to the pros next year (at most will stay in college 2 years). I've heard he had a lot of academic (among other) problems and not many of the top schools wanted to take a chance on his troubles. That's usually not a problem with Calipari though. Kentucky has some great young players, but they will live and die with Wall. When he's "on" they will be tough to beat. Carolina could have easily been beaten by 30 points the way they played in the first half. Thompson and Davis did not contribute much at all most of that game as far as I'm concerned. The guards weren't doing much either, but UNC's frontline has to give them something to work with in and out. They looked shell-shocked by the huge Kentucky crowd. Frankly, I chalk that game up as a positive learning experience. To get so far down and come away with just a 2-point loss is not terrible. If they had hit some free throws, they could have even won the game. This is definitely the worst free-throw shooting UNC team I've ever seen. Davis, Henson, Ginyard, and others will have to make their shots count as the season progresses or UNC will lose quite a few more games. They have way too much talent to suck it away like that at the stripe. Hopefully, experience and a coach on their butts will rectify that situation. UNC will have their ups and downs this year, but I still like our chances of dominating the nation by next year.

On another note, I watched the Duke game and stand by everything I have previously said. Singler is a very good player and scorer, but they cannot win Championships until they have some other cylinders to fire on. Singler wants the numbers, but the rest of the team will have to balance things out much better than they are. Scheyer comes and goes. Their big guys are "just" big; they don't add much to that team. Dawkins will be their future for sure.

Oracle, no1 here has said anything about UNC's youth being a factor in the UK game. Both teams featured some of the Nations best young talent, of course with Wall being the top.UK didnt show much without him though, he is not only thier top player. but he is also what makes them flow as a team offensively..not only as a scorer but more importantly as a distributor.I'm not sure what his line was for the 2nd half after he came back from the locker room, but he came back more as a passer than a shooter. He is like Ty Lawson in the way he affects the offensive flow of the rest of the team as a point guard, just better offensively when he needs to score.I'm more amazed at his knowledge of the game and matureness so early in his career. He will be a star point guard in the NBA next year in my opinion.
