While i will agree that we havent look impressive in some games, l still think challenging them early and often will prove to be better in the long run.
I think the players need to step up a bit, I mean our biggest guy on the floor might be the biggest wimp.
I'm ashamed to see Thompson play this year, he has no real presence inside..doesn't establish himself for anything.
He is too apt to settle for that 10 foot jump shot, and his only power moves are on run out dunks..not body to body inside power moves.
Move him over and let Davis take over early, and let Henson get more than 10 minutes a game.
Henson is too fast,long, and determined to be getting minimal minutes in each game.
He is a great shot blocking defender, that is even better on offense.
Henson is like Dawkins @ duke..they should both be playing top minutes, that would really help push both over the top.

If everyone wants to talk about this year then lets lay the facts out there.
Carolina has played roughly 7-8 teams out of thier 13 games that should be in the tourny come the end of the year.
We've lost to 3 of them, All 3 of which are deffinately the favorites to win the National Title this year.
Cuse', KU, and Texas are the top teams right now, as l dont see that Kansas has proved itself #1 yet in any regard.
In playing those games we have learned alot about ourselves and our young player will bounce back from those losses with knowledge of big game situtations and be a much better team come tourny time.

Duke has played 2 top 50 teams, beating one in UCONN, which has no National Title threat, as well as playing Wisconsin, Who will put up a good fight but they wont make it to the Sweet 16.
They have only one loss in 11 games.

Taking this information under blind eye, do it like they do at the end of the year when they give blind looks at teams resumes, and you tell me which youd rather have right now.

An young team with loads of talent, gaining big game experience throughout the season and taking a couple of losses to Top Teams,... or a team that has played subpar competition, teams that will not even compete within thier own weak conference, and gained no vauleable experience in big game situations going into the tournament.

We have watched it play out every year since Roy has taken over at Carolina...
He test his guys early and often, while Coach Ratface keeps his guys confidence up by playing bottom dwelling teams in non respective conferences and come tournament time they get kicked out early while we go deeper into the tourny, winning 2 in the last half of the decade..The Roy Era.
I'm not saying we will win the National Title this year, l think it's a longshot personally, but still a shot.
Duke however will be lucky to make it to the sweet 16, unless they draw a great road and manage to play 1-2 "good" teams before getting into the real competition.
I am saying,however, that North Carolina is the best iof the two listed again this year and will continue to prove so.

Blue, you cannot be a true fan of BOTH Carolina and Duke..in saying so, you lose any and all credability as a real fan.
Yes, l remember the year we lost to Santa Clara, l was dumbfounded, but with hopes that it was just because we lost our play maker(Raymond Felton) and it was..What happened the rest of that year exactly?
We lost exactly 3 more times to go 33-4 and won the National Title.

As i think about it though if i was a Duke fan i guess i wouldn't wanna talk about the past either since i'd have to go back so far to find the last year when Duke was better than UNC. I'd predict right now though that the teams will split head to head matchups this year

this is a funny post,someone trying to say marshall is top competition vs what duke's weak opposition has been ,i remember the year carolina lost to santa clara ,,and trying to down play the wiscosin team as top 50 ,you mean top twenty five ,be factual please marshall is no wiscosin ,i just happen to be one of the few people who likes duke and carolina ,but i know duke is the better team this year ,carolina was last year,all top twenty -five teams play weak competition early in their schecule what is all the racket about
