Apple Stuffed Pork Chops

6 pork chops (1 1/2 inch thick)
1/4 C chopped onion
1/4 C butter or margarine
3 C bread crumbs
2 C finely chopped granny smith apples
2 ribs finely chopped celery
2 tsp fresh chopped parsley
2 tsp fresh chopped oregano
salt & pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large skillet sauté onion
in butter or margarine until soft. Remove from heat to a bowl.
Add the bread crumbs, apples, celery, parsley, oregano and
salt and pepper to taste. Mix well. Spray skillet with non-stick
spray and brown chops lightly on both sides. Cut a large pocket
in the side of each pork chop; season inside and out with salt
and pepper, then spoon apple mixture loosely into pockets. Place browned chops in an ungreased 9x13 inch casserole dish.
Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove cover and
bake for 30 minutes longer or until juices run clear.

Bushman,

I have a similar pork recipe for the oven and I add a bag if frozen sliced carrots and diced potatoes. It turns out really well!

Crockpot Pork
Moonpie rub with your rub wrap in plastic wrap put in frig for 12 hours
remove and brown all sides in a skillet ,then follow directions below
1 pork roast, browned
2 cans cream of mushroom soup(10 oz)
2 cans mushrooms, not drained
2 C. water
1 pkg. onion soup mix
Put pork in crock pot and cover with remaining ingredients.
Cook on low 6-8 hours.

I have a recipe for a dry pork rub... a friend gave it to me and I haven't tried it yet.

2 Tbs. cracked black pepper
2 Tbs. parmesan cheese
2 tsp. dried basil
2 tsp.dried rosemary
2 tsp. dried thyme
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. salt

I bought a 3 lb. pork roast, and my question is...do I put it in a baking bag..like a turkey?
Or wrap in tin foil?

HELP!

Marinate a pork loin with La Choy's Garlic Ginger Stir Fry Sauce. Keep it in the refrigerator for a couple of days, turning every 12 hours or so. ( I like to do this by putting the meat and sauce in a gallon-sized zipper bag) Wipe down the grill grates with olive oil (use an old dishcloth or paper towel) Heat the grill (I use a gas grill) to high, then cut it back to medium. Put the pork loin onto the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes, turn and cook for another 7 minutes. Serve with favorite sides.

I like to take boneless pork ribs, trim the excess fat, and put them in a slow cooker with 1/2 cup of apricott preserves. let it cook on about 3 for 2 hours then turn it down to 1 till its time to eat. I usually serve it with white rice and sweet corn. the only extra it needs it a sprinkling of black pepper.

BBQ sauce for Boston Butt ,I left part of recipe out ,here it is

Barbecue Sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 cup small diced onion
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1 1/2 cups ketchup
1/2 cup molasses
1 tablespoon Rub
1 tablespoon hot sauce
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon mustard powder
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
Set a 1-quart saucepan over medium-high
heat and add the olive
oil. Once the oil is hot, add the onions and garlic. Sweat the
onions, stirring occasionally, until translucent, 3 to 4
minutes. Add the vinegar and cook until reduced by half, about
1 minute. Add the remaining ingredients to the saucepan and
cook on low for 5 minutes.
Stir often.
Turn off stove put lid on pot and leave on stove till cooled

Smoked Boston Butt
1 (5-pound) pork butt roast
4 tablespoons Bar-B-Q Rub recipe follows
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke, found in grocery store
1 Large onion, sliced
1 cup water
3 bay leaves
Barbeque sauce-- recipe follows , for serving
Preheat oven to 350 º F.
Sprinkle 1 side of the roast with 2 tablespoons of the Rub,
making sure to rub well.
Flip the roast over and rub the remaining 2 tablespoons of Rub.
Repeat the process with the liquid smoke.
Place the roast in a large roasting pan. Add the onion,
water and bay leaves to the roast.
Place in the oven and cook for 2 1/2 to 3 hours,
or until thermometer reads 170 º F.
Let meat cool for a few minutes and then slice.
Serve with your favorite barbeque sauce.

Bar-B-Q Rub
This recipe makes enough rub for three slabs of ribs.
The recipe can be doubled.
2 T. Paprika
2 T. Chili powder
1 t. Cayenne pepper
2 T. Coarse ground black pepper
2 T. Garlic powder
1-1/4 t. Celery salt
1/2 t. Dry mustard
1/2 t. Sugar (Optional)
Makes 1/2 cup rub.
