Our poor meal is making some cheddar cheese grits and topping them with some Cajun-seasoned pork tenderloin. Really cheap and good.

Moving, Hamburger Helper IS cheap and it IS easy, but I have never found a flavor that I can get on board with. Just the thought of it makes me wanna hurl, but to each their own!

Don't be ragging on Hamburger Helper. Some of it is pretty good. And it can't get any easier and cheaper!

Hamburger Helper... I'd rather eat bread and push. ;-)
Barbe-cups are good. My little man likes them better than me, but still cheap and easy. Canned biscuits flattened and squished into muffin pan cups. Brown 1 lb of hamburger meat (may add onion if you want, I don't because my kid doesn't like them), mix in your fave bb-q sauce when meat is done... mix in as little or as much as you want. Put meat on top of biscuit dough, top with shredded cheddar cheese and bake at 400 degrees for about 10-12 mins or until biscuits are golden.

BTW, that should say *bake* at 350, not back. I really need to start paying more attention to what I'm typing.

Here's a recipe for a quick, fairly cheap meal I discovered by accident, that my kids LOVE...
Pick up a couple boxes of Pasta Roni Fettuccine Alfredo. (Pasta aisle at the grocery store) 1 Pack boneless, skinless chicken breasts Package of shredded Mozzarella cheese
Make pasta according to directions on box. Cut chicken breasts into strips and saute until done When pasta is done and flavor mix is added, put pasta into baking dish Layer chicken over pasta Top with mozzarella cheese and back @ 350 degrees until cheese is melted.
Finish off with some garlic bread, and viola! Quick, inexpensive, and pretty darn tasty!

Man, I love egg salad, Elmo. The 50's restaurant has the best egg salad ever.
If you like dark meat, the boneless, skinless chicken thighs are out there now and you can do lots of different things with 'em, OC. They are cheaper than the breasts. I make tandoori chicken with 'em, because they don't dry out as bad in high heat like the breasts do.

When I catch a mess of trout that can make a cheap meal, I reckon.
