I did boil for 12 mins. Im not sure what happened. I will try again this weekend and do the water test thing. Hopefully it will set better. :) Thanks for the help!

Thanks I never been a candy maker ,my wife is but not me.

to make sure it is the hard ball stage....as it thickens...take a toothpick and dip into cooking mixture...then drop a drop of mixture into glass of water...it should stay in the ball shape.

Here i cooked for 12 minutes ,it says boil for 12 .
I did'nt boil for 12 ,I cooked for 12 and it did'nt set well either.

Bring the mixture to a boil and boil for 12 minutes.

Candy makers HELP

The last time I made it mine was like yours and my wife told me I should have cooked it till it was at hard ball stage.I know what it means but it hard to explain .
I think I needed to cook it longer to make it set better

The fudge has a wonderful taste, but it didnt set up really firm like other fudge I have had.
