I've had good success with Steak Diane. Purchase two fillet miegon steaks about 4-6 oz. each.
3 green onions chopped 1 tbls mustard, grainy 3 cloves of garlic, minced 2 tbls lemon juice 2 tbls olive oil 2 tbls butter (do not use margerine) 2 tbls worchester sauce 1/2 cup of brandy or good scotch wiskey (you can buy mini bottles, or get the fifth...helps to make the evening go better! LOL)
preheat the olive oil on med-high heat.
saute the onions and garlic along with the mustard for about 2-3 minutes.
add the steaks and brown on each side for about 3 minutes. turn heat down to medium
add the wochestershire sauce and the butter and lemon juice and let cook for another 2-3 minutes
add the brandy last and flame it off or just allow it to cook for a couple of minutes. check for doneness...these times should give you a medium-rare steak, depending upon the thickness of the meat.
place steaks on individual plates with the sauce spooned over the top. Serve with twice baked potatoes and a nice red wine (Pinot Noir works fine, or your favorite red will do.)
Try following with desert...something like maybe, raspberrys, blueberries, and strawerries served with REAL whipped cream.
Candle light is good too!

Country if you have cable tv watch the Take Home Chef on TLC. Also look him up on the internet. He goes to people's homes and cooks romantic or nice dinners as a surprise. He makes some of the most romantic and delicious looking food, especially dessert. You can look on his site and see what times he comes on and also look up his recipes. Maybe you can cook some of them.
Here's his link... http://tlc.discovery.com/fa...
PS He's very easy on the eyes too.
