If I accidentally put a turkey in the oven upside down, I would never touch another stove as long as I lived

I don't think you can cook a turkey at 200 degrees and assume it is done. That temperature is too low and will not kill any bacteria. I say 350 degrees, for just a few hours, based on the size of the bird.

I think you cook it on 200 overnight, but don't quote me on that. I always eat at moms.

Makes sense. The dark meat has more fat than the breast. The fat from those parts would drip down and saturate the less-fat parts. Thanks.

OC.. you are so insightful. :) A friend of mine cooks her turkey this way and also covers it in mayo... Sounds gross, looks gross... but turns a pretty golden color and is sooo moist. :)

LOL... I've done this every year since I accidentally put my turkey in upside down the first year I ever baked a turkey. It was, hands down, the juiciest turkey I've ever eaten... and since, I've never had a dry turkey.

I flip it over during the last hour or so, just to get the golden brown on top of the turkey.

Instead of cooking that turkey the conventional way flip it upside (breast down) inside the cooking bag. You have MOST EXCELLENT moist turkey breast. Let it cook overnight.
