It takes approximately 30 lb for 7 qts of spaghetti sauce according to the USDA home canning guide.

Tomatoes are normally sold in 20 lb. box. 10 lbs of the tomatoes should be what to use.

Franks tools has 50 gallon barrels. $8.00 for barrel & $2.00 for cap. Time you add 100lbs ground beef & all the other stuff that would be the way to go.

I am fixing some tomatoes for spaghetti sauce and the recipe calls for 1/2 bushel of tomatoes. I don't know how the figure out to get the right measurement. the tomatoes came in a regular size tomato box and it say on the side 25 lbs. but that don't tell me how to meaure 1/2/ bushel any help?
