Will this work for white sweet potatoes as well as red ones? (I've tried using the red before and love the foliage!)

Mama always laid the sprouting sweet potato in an oblong dish and keep an inch or so of water in the dish (don't completely cover the sweet potato with water) and then WAIT. It will grow rather quickly.

Just stand it up in a glass and put water in it. They will keep growing pretty as you please. Don't cut the sprouts off the potato.

not a receipe i know but im sure someone knows how to grow a sweet tater vine in a glass of water around here... i have a couple of taters that have sprouted and i thought my granddaughters mite get a kick out of the vine havent grown one in so long cant remember the specifics of it. do i put the sprouts in the water, cut it? help please
