When you talk about summer vacation,I always think of the best place in the world. White Lake NC. It is family orintiated and you can not find a better place for children to go. The water is clear as the water in your sink and is fed into the lake by underground springs. There are motels, cabins and trailers for rent at very reasonable prices. Just go on line and type in White Lake NC and you can get info and pictures. Good luck with your search for a place for your family to enjoy.

Around Myrtle Beach - we like Garden City, SC. So much to do in that area. I love NC beaches as I am from the coastal region, but the Myrtle Beach area sounds more like what you are interested in.

I would re-post this to the discussion forum if you haven't done so yet. I bet others have good places to visit that I haven't thought of.

Think a little beyond the box and consider spending a week at Tybee Island (just east of Savannah. Great place, great food, near several attractions. Fort Pulaski is a must see if you do decide to go there. Have fun, wherever you decide to go.

Where is a good beach in North Carolina to take the family this summer, that has maybe amusement park, or at least go-carts, and miniature golf, or a waterpark would be good.
