We do a "Low Country Boil" in a turkey cooker outside. I have made them several different ways but this is the basics.
1-2 lbs of small red potatoes 6-10 ears of corn 1-2 lbs of your favorite Polish type sausage (I like New Orleans by Johnsonville) 2-4-lbs uncooked shrimp Old Bay or Zattarans Seafood Seasoning 1 large garlic clove 2 large onions quartered
Start Water heating in turkey cooker. Add lots of Old Bay or similar seasoning. Add onion and garlic. Make surer you are using strainer basket and add potatoes. Cook about 15-20 min or until done. We usually cook one thing at a time if we are making a lot.. If you are only making a small amount you can cook everything together. Next add corn cook 15-20 minutes. Next add sausage. Cook about 15-20 minutes and finally add shrimp cook until shrimp turn pink. This is best served on several layers of news paper.
I have had this with oysters, crab and lobster. I have also had it with chicken breasts.

grits....not necessarily one of my favorites with shrimp though.
When we get the chance to eat shrimp...I go light on the side dishes...that's cause I want shrimp...maybe a small baked potato and a lite salad.
