SALMON CAKE RECIPE

4TBS flour
1 egg
mix,fry till golden brown

Lemon Herbed Salmon
2 1/2 cups fresh bread crumbs
4 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
6 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh thyme
2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons butter, melted and divided
1 (3 pound) salmon fillet
In a shallow bowl, combine bread crumbs, garlic, parsley,
Parmesan cheese, thyme, lemon peel and salt; mix well.
Add 4 tablespoons butter and toss lightly to coat; set aside.
Pat salmon dry. Place skin side down in a greased baking dish.
Brush with remaining butter; cover with crumb mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes or until salmon flakes easily with a fork.

Does anyone have a good recipe for salmon fillets? I've just been diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency, and I need some ideas.

I was just going to throw it in the oven covered with lemon juice and basil. Does that sound like it would be any good?

i always drain and debone. Then add egg and a little cornmeal.just enough to make patty stick together. fry till brown salt while frying.

I crush the bones between my fingers, same with the skin as that and the dark parts of the salmon where the omega 3 oils are.

If you were to taste my salmon patties you would never see the skin or the bone because of the fineness I pulverise them. Everyone likes them and I like poached or baked salmon but can not abide the taste or smell of them in a patty

1 can of salmon
drain and de-bone
add i egg
1/2 cup flour
enough crackers to make stiff
roll a ball in your hand
roll in flour and form pattie
fry in hot but not too hot cooking oil

I am way too picky of a eater to eat bones. I can't finish my meal if I bite onto gristle or anything in chicken, hamburger or fish. I wish I wasn't like that. I would die if I tried to eat salmon that wasn't cleaned. I don't eat it anyway, but just can't imagine. I bet it would be good for you though.

I don't clean my salmon, either. Too much good nutrients to throw away! :D

Thanks for the comments Freddiemae. My dr said that I need more fish oil and canned salmon is a good source. The skin helps out on that.

I don't clean mine either. I never have and my Mom didn't either. I have been eating salmon cakes over 40 years and to be honest the bones are my favorite part.

I know this is gross but, I have read not to clean the salmon. There is alot omega-3 in the skin part of salmon and also alot of calcium in the bones. I don't clean my salmon anymore. I really can't taste a difference.

2 cans of salmon,cleaned 2 eggs 3 table spoons of corn meal salt and pepper, mix well, form into patties and fry until done.

By cleaning the salmon, I imagine they are talking about removing the bones and skin. I know that's how I clean the canned salmon when I make salmon patties.

The way I make my salmon patties is as follows

1 or 2 cans of Salmon, drained and cleaned
1 or 2 eggs
salt
pepper
old bay seasoning
saltine crackers
flour

I combine until it is firm enough to make a patties and fry in a hot pan of vegetable oil.

What do you mean "clean" the salmon? I've never fried salmon patties but used to like them when my mother did.

you can also use canned tuna in place of the canned salmon. it is so much easier and taste better also. don't have to clean that can of salmon. yuck

Salmon Cakes
1 15 oz can pink salmon
2 eggs
Salt and pepper to taste
Paprika to taste
Chopped onion
Pinch of garlic
1 tsp flour
1/2 cup bread crumbs or crackers.
Mix all ingredients. shape into patties.
Cook in a pan with very little oil or use cooking spray.
Serve with cream gravy and sliced Tomato's

1 can double q salmon, half of medium onion diced, add 1/2 cup flour, 1 egg and 1 pack of town house crackers or the regular club crackers. mix well, fry in olive oil. the crackers is what takes that "wang taste" out. my family wipes them out. even the ones who don't like salmon!!!! let me know how you like it.

2 cans Salmon, cleaned
1 box Stove Top (any flavor)
1 Onion, chopped
1/2 cup mayo.

Combine all ingredients well and form into patties. Bake or fry until browned.

I got this recipe from a dear friend and won't make them any other way now.
