Apple thank you for bumping this recipe up for me. It sounds just like the one I have been looking for and will be using it this weekend. Thanks again.

Fire Dept. BBQ sauce for chicken
This makes 1 gallon.
This sauce works best if kept warm and mixed well while using. If used at room temp it tends to seperate and the spices settle to the bottom.
Baste chicken with liberal amounts every few mins while cooking. This sauce makes a lot of smoke so after basting close the lid on the grill and let it smoke. The smoke adds a lot of the flavor.
The amounts of red and black pepper can be adjusted to taste.

1qt Wesson oil
2 qts vinegar
8 oz lemon juice
1 1/2 cups salt
1 1/4 cup black pepper
1 heaping tablespoon red pepper
1 tablespoon chili powder
3 oz Worchestershire sauce
1 oz Texas Pete
1 tablespoon garlic salt

Heat over low temp until well blended...DO NOT BOIL!!!!
