Question about green beans

diesel and dust

Posted 2:24 pm, 04/17/2013

There is a variety of bush bean called "Derby" that is stringless. I grew them last year and I was impressed. They were prolific in production of beans in excess of 8 inches long. They freeze very well and are excellent for canning. They retain their bright green color when cooking and have a firm texture. (Not mushy like other cultivars of green beans.) As far as cooking them, I like to use ham hocks, ham pieces or ham centers for seasoning. Delicious!

Thanks for supper Music. It was delicious. A good meatloaf is better than a pork tenderloin anyday.

Crypt, if he doesn't stop leaving wet towels on the floor,

twist it up and snap/pop him on the bare leg/arse four or five times every time he leaves it on the floor

I prefer Garden Lettuce, onions with hot grease poured over them and, creamed potatoes, corn bread and a big glass of cold milk.

TDTMD. fresh picked, cleaned and canned in a pressure cooker are wonderful, go to the basement, grab a can, pop em open and cook them slow, OMG how good.

Crypt, if he doesn't stop leaving wet towels on the floor, he may just have a few more days left!!

And Happytrees, I am not a huge fan of green beans, but I will eat them IF they are fresh. I won't touch the ones out of a can!

That is one fine looking supper. Pass the garlic bread and a glass
of cold milk. I won't be as jealous if I know you two are newly weds.

Here ya go Moving... virtual dinner. We changed the main dish to meatloaf, hope you don't mind. It was a last minute decision. And the beans were pretty good if I do say so myself!

My hubby's plate!
