You could use 1/2 tsp of baking powder if you want , but 5 eggs will cause it to rise

Home just wondering if you use plain flour without adding baking powder, how does the cake rise?

I think that a cream cheese pound cake is very good. I don't have the recipe with me( at a friends house) but you can google it and find it. I know that it takes 3 sticks of butter, not margarine, 3 cups sugar, 6 eggs, 8 oz cream cheese. Be sure to add the almond flavoring, it makes a big difference.
