How do you make pintos if you use fat back? If I use the small bag of pintos, how much fat back?

Dried Pinto's with Country Ham Hock
Sort, wash and soak dried beans in 6 cups of water
per pound of beans for 6 to 8 hours.
Discard water and cover with fresh water.
1tsb black pepper
1/2 tps baking soda
1 large peeled onion
Place ham hock in beans with onion
and cook approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until tender.
Or use slo-cooker for 4 to 5 hours
salt to taste and serve

i soak my pintos in a spoon ful of vinegar and a bowl of water over nite.rinse well,then put em in the crock pot to cook.i cover my crock pot with an extra towel,that way they cook just a little faster.

as for mac and cheese. i cheat,lol,i use the store box stuff,but after the noodles have cooked,i rinse em off with cool water and then put em back in the pot and continue as the directions say.i usually put some extra cheese in them. if you use just a little more water ,when you set em off the burner,they wont get too dried out.
