i soak my pintos in a spoon ful of vinegar and a bowl of water over nite.rinse well, then put em in the crock pot to cook.i cover my crock pot with an extra towel, that way they cook just a little faster.

as for mac and cheese. i cheat, lol,i use the store box stuff, but after the noodles have cooked,i rinse em off with cool water and then put em back in the pot and continue as the directions say.i usually put some extra cheese in them. if you use just a little more water ,when you set em off the burner, they wont get too dried out.
