Yes...IMO...it actually gives the flavor of the pintos a richer flavor.

I do it to my green beans, haven't tred it in pintos yet.

Someone told me that instead of cooking pinto beans with a chunk of fatback they add a table spoon of peanut butter instead, does anyone else do this?
