I don't like cloves unless you're talking garlic cloves. I say hot pepper, beet juice and garlic would be good. Or how about putting the eggs in some Mad Dog 20/20. Disclaimer: I have never tried this.

Found this :


6 hard boiled eggs
1 cup cider vinegar
1 cup beetroot juice( From a jar of beets)
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup chopped onion
3 whole cloves

1-boil eggs peel and cool place them in large sterel jar
2 place all ingredients in saucepan and bring to boil stiring occasionally
3 Reduce heat to simmer and cook for 10 minutes
4 Remove from heat and allow liquid to cool
5 Pour the pickleing solution over eggs in jar so they are covered then seal tightly with lid
6 store for a minimum of 2 days before using

I boil and peel eggs, then use vinegar/ or whatever pickle juice I have saved, (Beet is the best) and sometimes add some HOT pepper, keep in a cool place for about 5 days then eat, wouldn't keep them for more than a week this way though
