I use can peas or fresh if available. do not drain add abt 1 cup milk, salt and pepper and butter, make your dough like you would biscuit but only but each ball of dough about the size of a marble because they will expand. You can also put all this in oven and just put bread dough on top

Here's how I make mine:

1 large can LeSeur Young Early Peas

1 small can of canned biscuits

3 T butter

flour

milk/cream

Salt/pepper to taste

Pour one can of LeSeur Young Early peas into sauce pan. Add 3 tablespoons butter. Bring to a simmer. Make a flour mixture of about 1 heaping Tablespoon flour and 2 TB milk in a small container with lid and shake/stir until well blended. Gently stir flour mixture into peas until thickened. Add a little milk/cream to the desired consistency. Pinch canned biscuits (I pull them apart into smaller pieces) on top and cook COVERED until dumplings are done. You will need to gently stir peas from the bottom occasionally to prevent from sticking. Add salt and pepper to taste.

You melt about 1/2 stick of margarine in a medium pot.

add a tablespoon. of self rising flour and salt and pepper to taste.

stir well and add 1/2 cup of milk.

Drain the water off a can of peas and add them to the mixture.

Let this boil a couple minutes and serve.

You can adjust the amount of milk depending on how thick or thin you like it to be.

I hope you like this recipe
