Did not get your reply in time so I mixed the jello in a half cup of water,then mixed in the drained pinapple till it cooled,then folded in the cool whip. The cake was a big hit at the party Thanks again.

You're right, just use the mix. The moisture from the Cool Whip and pineapples will replace the water that you would usually use.

Jason, do I mix the jello as per box directtions,or just mix the dry packet to the other ingredients? Thanks ,trying to make it for a picnic today
