It's kraut not sour cream. Several weeks ago someone posted a recipe for a Kraut Casserole. I was wondering it this is the same one. I should go back and look for it but I'm to lazy.

Are you sure it is kraut and not cream?

I could see this being baked in the oven as opposed to crockpot cooking...it would make the Kraut and hashbrowns mushy...I see this more as a casserole dish. Crumble, brown and then drain sausage. Mix all ingrediants as suggested then bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes...maybe an hour if you add the whole bag of hashbrowns.

Looks strange to me too Grannynanny. I imagine it'd be a weird texture with stringy stuff and gooey stuff in my opinion. You never know til you try though, you might love it. Let us know how it turns out if you decide to try it.

A friend of mine gave me this recipe. It's strange to me and I was wondering if anyone has fixed it.

Kraut

1/2 bag of hash browns
1 lb of sausage browned and drained
14 oz. sour kraut
3 eggs
1 can cream of chicken soup
3 cups of Cheddar cheese

Mix and put in crock pot. Cook for 4 to 6 hours.
