Iam from Indonesia from island of Java but never heard this kind of food or try it, perhaps the chef create the recipe n give indonesian name to make it excotic.
To me the food look like mix between chicken soup and vegetables/fruits salad, but indonesian salad usually use peanut sauce and indonesian traditional food never use cheese.

Let us know how this turns out. You are right! It does sound like garbage, but who knows. it's like SOS : it is delicious when served as creamed beef on toast even if looks like it has been eaten once before it has been served.

I forgot to list the pineapple and cheese. Here is a recipe...it's not the one in my book but it's close.

Has anyone ever heard of this? I bought a cookbook from Kentucky yesterday at the library book sale and it had this in it. I think it comes from Indonesia from what I found on the internet. You cook rice, chicken gravy, chicken and put in bowls on the table. You serve with bowls of chow mein noodles, diced celery, diced tomato, slivered almonds, coconut and top it all off with a cherry. You put it in a certain order in the bowl. It sounds gross, but from what I read it is supposed to be delicious. I wanted to get some input from any who might have tried it. I think it is similar to Chicken Ala King.
