I make my own, its great, everyone luvs it.

I love the shrimp sauce at Nanasan... Does anyone know how to make it? It doesn't taste like it has any vinegar in it at all, it is very sweet.

Shrimp sauce
1 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons white sugar
3 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 tablespoons melted butter
3/4 teaspoon paprika
3/8 teaspoon garlic powder
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, white sugar, rice vinegar
melted butter, paprika and garlic powder.
Mix well, cover and refrigerate

1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon garlic juice
3/4 teaspoon ketchup
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon paprika
3/4 teaspoon white pepper
(be easy on the white pepper. if you overdo it, that will ruin the whole thing).

I think the poster is probably refering to the watery 1000 Island looking sauce, shrimp sauce most places call it. I might be wrong, but that's my guess.

Which sauce? Several sauces used from sweet to sour, salty to bitter, etc. Please describe one you are talking about.

Does anyone know the recipe for the sauce they make at the Japanese restaurant? thanks
