Sour Cream Banana Pudding
2 small boxes instant vanilla pudding mix 3 cups milk 1 cup sour cream 6 large ripe bananas 1 8 oz. container Cool Whip 1 Box vanilla wafers
Stir the pudding mix, milk and sour cream together until thickened. Add the Cool Whip, stirring until well blended. In a large bowl, start with a layer of vanilla wafers, then a layer of banana slices, then a layer of pudding. Continue layering until you run out of pudding and bananas. Chill overnight and serve.

Here is my parents recipe for homemade banana pudding - for a small one, just make the one recipe which will feed 4-5 people depending on the serving size. My family loves it so I usually double the recipe. Hope you enjoy!!!!
1/2 cup grandulated sugar
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. self-rising flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups sweet milk
Cook in saucepan until thick stirring constantly. When it starts to feel like it is sticking to the bottom of the pan or starts to thicking (lumps) turn the heat down and stir until thick. Let cool before pouring over vanilla wafers and bananas. I usually put a layer of wafers, bananas, then part of the pudding, then another layer of wafers and bananas then remaining pudding. Decorate top with wafers.
Very simple, very quick and very good

I make it like grannynanny, but my husband just lost his job, so I may go with ap1224 receipe. But my husband really likes for me to add a small can of crushed pineapple drain and about 1/2 to 3/4 cup coconut.

The way I make banana pudding is easy and cheap. I buy the Vanilla Jello Pudding you have to cook-follow the recipe on the pudding box. Layer vanilla wafers, sliced bananas and pudding while the pudding is still warm. I repeat the layers ending with pudding and crumble some of the wafers on the top to make it kind of pretty. It's really good.

I don't know how much you want to make but here is instructions for a small one.
1 box of instant vanilla pudding, add half of the milk and mix. Then add small container of sour cream and one small container of whipcream(cool whip).
One layer of cookies, layer of bananas, layer of pudding. continue until all is used. or you run out of room in the bowl.
