HOW DO YOU LIKE YOUR POTATOES COOKED

I always have to put rehydrated, uncooked hash brown potatoes (Hungry Jack) in his Western Omelet along with Vidalia onions, a little diced bell pepper, a few pieces of diced tomato or mild, chunky salsa, cheese, and a few diced pieces of ham. I cook it until just set and then I put a large tbsp of sour cream on all this before I turn the omelet. Place this on a microwave plate for 45 seconds to a minute. ( I also add a tbsp of buttermilk to the beaten eggs to make the omelet rise.

It might be my Irish heritage, but I'm a big fan of potatoes too! Lots of Irish people had a very tough time during the potato famine....some almost starved, other did starve, and I guess that lead to increased immigration....for those who had money for the boat ride.

All of you have good ideas for potatoes. For me, it's hard to beat a baked spud with butter, sour cream, and chives.

I have metal nails that go through the potato and it cooks them in half the time. Only use them in the oven and I like my potato wrapped in aluminum foil.

Baked is the best way for me but will also eat freshly mashed ones and season it with herbs....

I never met a potato dish that I didn't like. Bring it on!

A good homemade potato soup with shredded cheddar cheese and a fresh baked piece of piping hot cornbread all buttered up might be my all time fav though.

Never lose the dream, UU! Cigarette smoke is one of those garnishments that diners owe every great culinary moment to. I fogot that you had to blow smoke, but did not want to give away that secret ingredient.

I've had hashbrowns pretty much every which way. But at heart I'm an old stainless steel diner guy. Until the anti-smoking craze took over my goal in life was to own an old fashioned diner. But it just wouldn't be the same sans smokers.
