I may have gotten carried away. I got a 22 pound turkey...and there will probably only be 4 adults :) Maybe 5 at the most. I hope I got enough ;)

More turkey the better! Seriously, I'd say 1simpleman is right....a 15 lb bird will probably suffice, I cooked for a crowd a couple years ago, roasted one and deep-fried one 15 lb-ers(+or-), and we had plenty for about 35. Have fun!

Well, we elected the biggest turkey in the world as our last president and am sure that he would take your whole dinner and leave you with nothing more than the pinfeathers!

My husband is about 195 pounds, I think he is turkey enough!

I alwaysgo with 20-25 pounds, plenty left to freeze to use later on.

LOL My husband said he wanted enough left overs for turkey pie, sandwiches, salads So I fixed that I went and got a 22 lbs. He's gonna have turkey coming out his ears. I really don't like it myself I would much rather have a ham.

Nope, I cooked a 20 pounder Sat, and it was done perfectly in about 4 hours! Granted I did not stuff it, but it really didn't take that long.

I was kind of thinking 20 pounds, but I wasn't sure if that was TOTAL overkill :) I'm going to be cooking this thing for DAYS!

If I were you, I would go for the 18-2- pound range...this is one instance where more is always better!

Why didn't I think of that ?? Heehee...

I look it up every year and I THINK I'm buying a big enough turkey, but it never ends up actually being enough for leftovers. Someone with experience in these matters?? Anyone??

I have for sure 8 people coming, but four are kids who don't eat that much. It's possible that I may have two more adults, so I have to allow for them, plus both my sister and I want plenty of leftovers. How big should my turkey be?? Help... I never make one big enough!
