I hit "something" wrong!!! It sent my reply before I was finished!!! I will probably try all of the bbq sauce recipes you sent me (Bushman) before I'm done perfecting my technique and recipe. I should have been a chef....little did I know that years ago though. (I couldn't boil water when I got married 21 years ago!) I really enjoy cooking and making every thing I cook the very best I possibly can. My husband says I'm my worst critique. I'm thankful he's so easy to please with my cooking. I guess that inspires me even more! I'm just always trying to figure out how I can make something I cooked even better the next time. Thanks again for all your help!

Thanks so much for your advice on my hotwings. I did decide to deep fry them in my large cast iron dutch oven and then add them to my bbq sauce and well, I need to adjust my sauce a bit. Hubby said they were a little too sweet and not quite hot enough. I've made that adjustment, so we'll try them again tomorrow. Hubby is very easy to please when I cook, so I love his advice. I'll probably try all the bbq

I bake mine with just a little salt and pepper at 400 degrees for about one hour. Afterwards toss in the sauce of your choice. (I line the pan with heavy duty foil and cleanup is a snap!) Enjoy! Hubby sure gobbles them down! LOL

Might I suggest since you have so many, why not try a couple of different methods!

I deep fry mine then bake them off real quick just to crisp them up. Then I toss them in Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Wing Sauce.

I just bake mine without any type of breading, then drop them in the sauce straight out of the oven.

Hi all :) I love reading the recipes here. I am planning on making homemade hot wings tomorrow. We purchased about 10lbs. of JUST chicken drumettes at the Tyson chicken store today. I love the drumettes, but don't care for the "wings". Anyway. Since I've never made them at home I went to the Food Network website and was very surprised that some people deep fry them before adding them to their BBQ sauce. Some people flour them and deep fry them and others grill them and even others broil or bake them in the oven first!!!! SO!!!! MY ???? is....Ü....how do you do it....what is the very best way to make hot wings (drumettes) at home??? I have already made my sauce....which is margarine, vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, dry mustard, Worcestershire sauce and red pepper sauce (I'll give you the recipe later if you want to know). I'm planning on adding HOT WING sauce to my homemade sauce. Anyway. Tell me....tell me all and anything that you know about making these hot wings at home. We purchased the 10 lbs. for about $10 at the Tyson store. Thanks in advance for any advice on cooking the wings/drumettes. :)
