I can't wait to try it. It's going to be funny when I send my husband to get the cheapest beer possible.

in a loaf pan...and I have used the cheapest beer you can find...it doesn't matter..Old Milwaukee, pabst blue ribbon...whatever. I mix it with my hands...seriously...this is the easiest bread recipe ever..I have used it for years. Take it out the oven hot, slice it or break it off, put a lot of butter on it...OMG!!! is it good

This one has never failed me.

Easy Mixer White Bread

2 1/2 c. warm water
2 pkgs. dry yeast
1/2 c. non-fat dry milk
7 c. all purpose or bread flour, approximate
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. salt
1/3 c. vegetable oil

Place warm water into bowl of mixer, sprinkle yeast over the top. Allow to stand for 3 - 4 minutes. Add dry milk, sugar, salt, oil, and 3 cups of the flour. Blend well with mixer, using dough hook or paddle set at low speed, scraping sides. Increase to medium and beat for 3 minutes. Stir in remaining flour, and turn mixer on low speed. When all the flour is incorporated, remove from mixer bowl and place on a lightly floured board or counter top. Cover with a towel and let rest for 15 minutes.
Knead only until smooth, about 1 minute. Divide the dough into 2 equal pieces. Shape into balls and let rest under a towel for 4 - 5 minutes.
Form a loaf by pressing a ball of dough into a flat oval in half lengthwise, pinch the seam tightly to seal, tuck under the ends, and place seam down into loaf pan. Use two 8 1/2" X 4 1/2" loaf pans. If using glass, reduce oven heat by 25º. Repeat for the other loaf. Place pans in a warm area (80 - 85º), cover with a lightly floured towel or wax paper and leave until dough rises 1 inch above top of pan, or approximately 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 400º F. Bake for 10 minutes. Reduce eat to 350º F and continue for another 35 minutes. Turn from pans to cool on wire rack. Store in plastic bag. Makes two loaves.

Goddess do you bake your bread in a loaf pan or in rolls? Do you mix the dough with fork or just mix it up with hands a few times? Dumb questions I know, but I have always been terrible at making bread or biscuits.

Anyone know where and what brand to buy as the cheapest beer? I don't want to buy an expensive beer since no one will really drinks it much around here and it would be for bread only.

Easy yeast bread. Get a bread machine. Use it. I got mine for $5 at goodwill. It takes me 2 minutes flat to throw this together for a healthy home made fresh bread. Put ingredients in machine in this order.
1 cup hot water
3 TB butter (or veg oil if you must)
3 TB sugar
1 tsp salt
2TB dry milk
3 cups flour (I use half whole wheat)
1 TB or 1 packet yeast
Makes one large old fashioned loaf or 16 dinner rolls if you set the home bakery to the dough cycle and let let rise an hour before baking.

everything you need is in the beer and flour.

if you like after you kneed it just a few times...you can let it rest...I don't even bother doing that though.
