i have all the ingredients and am making the taco soup today. i had a problem and thought i would share the answer. the recipe calls for 1 packet of dry ranch dressing. i buy mine in larger plastic bottles from
Sam's club. if you need to know, there are 3 tablespoons of dressing in the packet.

I make my homemade vegetable beef soup using ground beef or beef stew meat, corn, tomatoes, potatoes, black eye peas, 1 can of mixed vegetables, mushrooms, and a small amount of elbow macoronie. Drain all cans except for tomatoes. Simmer and add water and/or tomato juice as needed. I also quarter and onion and throw in the pot. Great served with a hot peice of cornbread and milk.

What is a good recipe for veggie soup? Or tomato basil? Mine always seems, well, lacking.

I don't go by a recipe.. I wing it. 2 cans vegall 1 can corn 1 can green beans 1 can of tomato sauce, tomato past and small diced maters.. then I add garlic, italian seasoning, bay leaves salt and pepper. occasionally I put in crushed red pepper.

I made some homemade chicken noodle soup yesterday. It makes the house smell so good when I use the slow cooker.

I just want to say that my mom always added okra to her home made soup. It was the kicker!

cowboy, i live out of my crock pot. i had two, but gave one to my daughter. on my days off, i make soups and stews for the week, or the month. pasta sauce too. then, during the week, i can pull my pre cooked meals, and reheat them. less dishes to wash.

but you know what? i have a foodsaver vacuum sealer, so when i make my batch recipes, i frees them in a plastic container, then put the frozen "bricks" in a foodsaver bag and vacuum it. i can freeze these bricks for up to a year...
