kenc: After all of my big talk about making chowder, it turns out that I'll be by myself at supper. I guess I'll just open a can after all! Maybe two!

UU - that's what we had last night for supper. Perfect for cold weather.

Heps - the box with the red X is where the emoticons aren't showing. I can't see any of them at work, so I get to see lots of red-box-X'es every lunch hour.

empowers: I don't have a "real" recipe, but here goes:

Fry a few slices of bacon and set it aside. Use a little bit of bacon grease in a large pot. Add chopped potatoes and onions, water, butter, and milk. When the potatoes are done, mash them LIGHTLY, leaving a mixture of some mashed taters and some still in pieces. Add a can of clams and the juice from the can. Add salt & pepper and garlic. Add pieces of bacon. Simmer.

Wish I could be more specific! As long as you simmer it on low heat and nothing scorches, it should be good. If you have whole milk or cream, if would be richer. I hope yours turns out to be good!
