Bachman Turner Overdrive "Takin Care Of Business"…:

In '74 I had this turned wide open on the 8 track.

When I worked at Hester's I drove a blue 68 camaro with a 396 . I wish I had that car back.

Yes, Tam was a good man, I have very fond memories of working for him and he was always fair to his employees.

Tam had some good food at Hesters.I saw Hester yesterday she said that she is 90 years old now.

I guess Tam has been gone now for a few years. I knew his son when he had his place.

I was just 17 when I first went to work at Hester's.

Well thanks Heartfelt for setting a few things straight. I ate quite a few of those hotfogs around 1974 and my car rattled those windows. I wore a belt with a gold marijuana buckle and had long hair then.

Yes the cabbage was chopped fine. Tam took pride in his slaw, Hester was the lady that owned the building, she lived in Florida. Tam Prevette is the man that run Hesters for many years.

Who owned Hester's back in 74 when you worked there Heartfelt?

Heartfelt, didn't they chop the cabbage up pretty small? Smaller than KFC slaw.

the chili was homemade also, but I do not remember all the recipe, that was a long time ago, but I did work in the kitchen soom, but I worked out front the most.

Heartfelt

bun toaster

Heartfelt

Those buns were warmed in a bun toasted with the lid raising up and down to sometimes mash the buns flat if too much pressure was closed on them

I guess Heartfelt has divulged all the secrets she is going to tell without a bribe.

Kenc, I don't think that they had ratings then. I worked the counter at a cafe part time, and don't remember one!! I think you are right about Moving starting nasty rumors about the vermin. I ate a lot of them footlongs and never found one roach in the slaw!!! The chili was a little crunchy at times!!!

I beg your pardon, but, Moving101 isn't in to starting rumors. I just listen to 'em. When I first started going to Hester's it wasn't so nasty, but eventually it got pretty bad...and yes, there were bugs that I witnessed with my own 2 eyes. That's when I stopped going. A few months later they closed.

Maybe Jacks Drive-In infiltrated Hesters and planted the bugs!
