Use lowfat butter in any recipe that calls for butter. Also, you can use fat free milk instead of whole milk in the mashed potatoes. Serve lots of vegetables, like green beans, brocoli, and corn. Bake your own cakes, use applesauce instead of the eggs and oil. Pumpkin pie is healthy, and I found a great recipe the other day.
Creamy Pumpkin Pie
1 low fat gram cracker crust 1 tub of fat free cool whip 1/2 cup of fat free milk 1 box of instant vanilla pudding mix 1 cup of pure pumpkin puree
Mix the milk with the pudding mix until blended well. Add the pumpkin and the cool whip. Mix until completely blended, pour into the gram cracker crust. This recipe is wonderful! Enjoy!

Trixie - You can make green bean casserole low fat by using the low fat campbells cream of mushroom soup. You can make lowfat mashed potatoes by using swanson chicken broth and fat free half and half. You can make a wonderful sweet potatoe and apple casserole - if you're interested I'll give you the recipe. Serve whole wheat rolls instead of yeast rolls. Turkey will be lowfat as long as you don't eat the dark meat or the skin. You can make some great cooked carrots with orange juice concentrate and cornstarch. If you need any more ideas just let me know! :D
