A friend of mine had poppy seed chicken and FAILED a drug test the next day. They asked him what he had to eat the day before and he told them. They laughed it off because they said it happens quite often. Thank goodness the people testing him knew that he had never and never would do drugs. He still had to retake the test a few days later, unannouced.

I love poppy seeds in salad dressings, these little ham and cheese sandwiches. I have always heard though, that poppy seeds will make you test positive for drugs if you have to take a drug test. I don't know for sure though, just what I always heard.
I use the recipe thazzrite has posted when making mine.

I tried a lemon and poppy seed muffin when I was young and I didn't like it at all. I never thought much about eating anymore poppy seeds, but this recipe sounds really good.

1 cup butter, softened
3 tablespoons poppy seeds
1 onion, grated
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons prepared Dijon-style mustard
2 (12 ounce) packages white party rolls
1/2 pound chopped cooked ham
5 ounces shredded Swiss cheese

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, mix together butter, poppy seeds, onion, Worcestershire sauce and prepared Dijon-style mustard.
Slice rolls in half horizontally and set aside tops. Spread bottoms with the butter mixture. Top with ham and Swiss cheese. Replace tops.
Arrange rolls in a single layer in a medium baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven 10 to 12 minutes, until rolls are lightly browned and cheese is melted.

You know what I heard about poppy seeds? Now don't laugh. It's not funny.

I never made any that way, but I suppose you could get poppy seed rolls and put on your mayo and mustard mixture, and then slap on the ham and swiss.

I would love to know how to make those ham and cheese sandwiches that have the poppy seeds on top!
