Old Fashioned Gingerbread 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon cloves 1 teaspoon ginger 1/2 cup shorting 1/2 cup sugar 1 cup molasses 1 egg well beaten 1 cup boiling water Mix flour ,soda ,salt, & spices . Cream shorting until fluffy. Add sugar gradually, beating after each addition. Add well beaten egg, & mollasses, beat until smooth. Add dry ingredients, mix thoroughly. Add hot water,stir until smooth. Turn into well greased pan. Bake..8" x 14" pan Temp 350 Time: 35 to 40 minutes

Here's one that I like:



Gingerbread Bundt Cake

Servings: 10



Ingredients:


2 cups all Purpose flour


1 cup sugar


1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa


2 teaspoons ginger


1 teaspoon baking powder


3/4 teaspoon baking soda


1/2 teaspoon salt


1/2 teaspoon cinnamon


1/2 teaspoon nutmeg


1/2 teaspoon cloves


2 eggs


1 cup molasses


2/3 cup your favorite oil


1 cup water



Directions:



1. Heat oven to 350 degrees Fareinhite



2. Spray 12 cup Bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray; sprinkle with flour.



3. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.



4. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, ginger, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves; mix well.



5. In medium bowl, lightly beat eggs.



6. Add molasses and oil; beat well.



7. Stir in water.



8. Add egg mixture to flour mixture; beat just until combined.



9. Pour batter into sprayed and floured pan.



10. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.



11. Cool in pan on wire rack for 15 minutes. Invert on serving plate.



12. Cool 30 minutes or until completely cooled.



13. Just before serving, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Does anyone have a easy recipe for ginger bread? I'm not looking for a cookie recipe. I'm looking for a loaf or cake recipe. Thanks
