I made a cake mix German chocolate cake today but beat it for 6 minutes. This is something I learned from an old friend. I iced it with this recipe. My husband said it is the best cake I have ever baked and I bake a lot of cakes. I have not tasted it because I hate coconut.

WOOOO HOOO I'm goin ta get cake!!!!

Cooked German Chocolate Icing
1 cup sugar
1 cup evaporated milk
1 stick butter or margarine
3 beaten egg yolks
1 cup flaked coconut
1/2 to 1 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla
Cook together in double boiler, stirring constantly, sugar,
milk, butter and egg yolks.
Cook until thick.
Add coconut, pecans and vanilla.

Anyone have a recipe for German chocolate icing?
