I would not use the oil. After a while your skin starts smelling like it.

My wife buys it already ground. She adds it to breads, soups, oatmeal, etc. as a part of the base ingredient. No reduction in quantity, just sprinkles it as is. It has no taste and no additional side appearances. We use it in banana and pumpkin bread, soups, dried beans, yogurt, puddings, pies, cake mixes, etc. She swears by it. I can't tell a bit of difference.

I used to put it whole on top of oatmeal and mix it in but later found out it is better to grind it before you do that. Once it's ground you can add it to about anything...
