GoWilkes... I've never seen it with chocolate pudding! I've always seen vanilla used... or even better French Vanilla..mmm.

I would have sworn that I had posted this before, but I can't find it, and now I can't find it saved anywhere! So this is from memory.

Ingredients

1 pack of Oreo cookies
1/2 cup of melted butter (I'm guessing on the amount)
2 8oz bowls of Cool Whip
1 package of cream cheese (I like the spreadable kind instead of the block; it mixes easier)
1 large box of instant chocolate pudding

Directions

First, set aside a handful of Oreos (I set aside 5 or 6).

Crush the remaining Oreos in a large bowl, then add enough melted butter to moisten them. Spoon the cookies into a casserole dish to cover the entire bottom (I use a 9x12 dish). This will be the first layer.

Use a mixer to mix 1 of the bowls of Cool Whip and the cream cheese. Pour mixture over the cookies to create the second layer.

Now, mix the chocolate pudding normally, and pour it over the Cool Whip / cream cheese layer, creating the third layer.

Refrigerate for about 30 minutes, to let the pudding set.

After the pudding is fairly solid, take the remaining bowl of Cool Whip and spoon it over the pudding. This will become the fourth layer.

The remaining Oreos can either be crushed and sprinkled on top, or you might just twist them open and place each half of a cookie on top in a pattern.

I recommend refrigerating this dish overnight before serving. This is one of those desserts that gets better after it sits for a little while :D
