Bushman asked for some different melon receipes. I have about 30 in my receipe collection. Some I have tried and some I plan to try in the future. These two are goodies.

This is from Congenial Quail Inn, Tuscon, Az.


1 ripe melon(such as Casaba, Cantaloupe, or Honeydew)


1/2 inch fresh gingerroot


fresh mint and garnish with edible flowers, such as pansy or day lily to garnish
Slice melon into serving wedges and scoop out seeds.


Cut along the rind to free the flesh, then cut across and lengthwise into attractive bite-sized pieces.
Peel 1/2 inch or so of the ginger root and grate onto melon wedges.
Garnish, and serve.

Chillin' Melon Drink

(don't remember where this came from.)

Save the seeds and gooey stringy pulp from 2 melons (cantaloupe, honeydew, casaba (not watermelon)


3 cups water


4 tablespoons sugar (to taste)

When you scoop out the seeds from your melons, add them to the blender with the pulp and all the gooey stuff with the three cups of water.

Alright, now! Remember the first brave soul who ate oysters, shrimp, lobster or creecy greens. It is good!
