For a whole rear ham , I put the ham in a turkey pan , mix 1 package of Lipton onion soup mix(box comes with 2) with about 2 cups of water and pour in the pan! Take the other package of onion soup mix and cover the top of the ham! Then cover the ham with some of the fattiest bacon you can find and then cover with foil and let marinade in the fridg over night! Next day cook in oven 5-6hrs. on 250! A couple of hrs before it's done you can take it out and fill the pan with tators and onions and finish cooking! The front shoulders I cut up into stew pieces and use it in slow cooking stews! Low and slow is the best advice I can give cooking deer and don't over cook!

Soak the tenderloin in salt water over night.... Place in crock pot with a two T A-1,1 whole onion and place about 8 strips of bacon on top....I cook it for 12 hours on low and when done remove the onion and bacon and pour off juices... Keep a little of the juices to keep it moist and add BBQ sauce....should be tender enough to stir it with a fork....

slow cook that deer meat in pepsi...yes I said pepsi or dr pepper...
let it cook for several hours slowly to tenderize it...then drain off most of the juices add onions..not a lot but enough to taste and other seasonings you may prefer...you'd be surprised how good it is.
