I never had a Culler's sandwich either. But, growing up my parents always got the steaks from Culler's and they were so good...
I learned at a young age if a steak is good and prepared right you don't need steak sauce on it. I remember offending my father one time asking for steak sauce to go on the steak. He told me then that if I was going to cover up the flavor of a good steak with steak sauce that from then on he'll just fix me a hamburger. I never asked for steak sauce from him again. LOL!!!

Don't know what it was, but Clegg's sandwiches were always better than one you fixed yourself. Maybe it was the atmosphere in which it was prepared. Scrumptious!

I'm sorry I had never heard of Cullers or had one of his sandwiches. I was going by what was on it .Would liked to have tried one though.

Bushman, I LOVE reading all your recipes, but in all due respect, there was nothing typical about a Cleggwich. The "piled high" part of the meat was the difference and always, always fresh. I've never had a sandwich anywhere that would hold a candle to Clegg's. Well, except maybe for my husband's....he worked for Clegg for about 10 years. :) Fine people.

It looks like any typical deli club sandwich just on rye bread.

I spoke with Mr. Culler and he was nice enough to give me the recipe for his sandwich (even said he would like to be able to make one for me) so I thought everyone might like it so here goes....
Boiled ham Turkey Roast Beef Salami Swiss Cheese or if you prefer American Rye Bread or if you prefer White Dukes Mayo Hot Mustard or French's if you prefer
Shave meat thin (or not, your choice) pile high equal parts ham, turkey, roast beef on bread with mayo and mustard. Add a couple of layers of salami and cheese. Hope you enjoy!!
Thanks to you Mr. Culler. You are missed!!!!
