I don't see why not ,we cook with a lot of olive oil.

WOW..Bushman, these are Great...Thank YOU!!! Can I substitute olive oil in these recipes. I have to avoid sugars and fats...

Barbecued Spareribs 4 pounds pork spareribs, cut in serving-size pieces salt and pepper 1 medium onion 1 bottle (16 ounces) barbecue sauce, or use 2 cups of homemade barbecue sauce Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper; place on broiler rack. Broil ribs for 20 to 25 minutes. Place ribs in slow cooker along with sliced onion and barbecue sauce. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours. Serves 4 to 6. Hamburger Vegetable Soup 1 pound ground beef 1/2 cup onion 1 cup potatoes 1 cup carrots 1 cup celery or shredded cabbage 3 cups tomato juice Or crushed tomatos 1/4 cup rice, uncooked (optional) 3 cups water 3 teaspoons salt 1/4 teaspoon basil 1/4 teaspoon thyme 2 bay leaves Brown and drain ground beef. Cut vegetables into bite-size pieces. Put all ingredients in large pot. Bring to a boil and simmer 1 hour or put in crockpot and cook on LOW all day. Makes 6 to 8 servings. Swiss Steak 3/4 C. flour 1 t. pepper 1/4 t. salt 2 to 2 1/2 lb. boneless round steak 1-2 T. butter 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 can cream of celery soup 1 1/3 C. water 1 C. celery sliced 1/2 C. chopped oniion 1 garlic clove, minced 1-3 t. beef boullion granules
In a shallow dish, combine flour, pepper and salt. Cut steak into serving size pieces. Dredge in flour mixture. In a skillet brown steak in butter. Transfer to crockpot. Combine the remaining ingredients and pour over the steak. Cover and cook on low 8-9 hours or until the meat is tender. E-Z Crockpot Steak and Onions Cube steaks, 2 per person Flour Cooking oil 1 large onion, sliced 1 can beef broth 1 package brown gravy mix Pepper to taste--you probably won't need salt.
Dredge meat in flour. In heavy skillet, heat about 3 tbs oil and brown meat on both sides. Transfer to crockpot, then add onions to remaining oil You may need to add a little more oil. Stir in brown gravy mix and cook until onions are tender Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture begins to thicken, then slowly add and stir in beef broth. Continue to cook until fully thickened. If mixture seems too thick, add enough water to make a decent gravy. Pour all into crockpot and cook on low for about 6 hours. Mashed potatoes covered with the onion gravy goes great with this. Crockpot Cajun Chicken 3 slices bacon chopped 1/2 Cup. chopped green pepper 1/4 Cup. chopped onion 1/4 Cup. chopped celery 1 1/4 lb. boneless skinless chicken thighs 2 tsp. dried Cajun seasoning 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained 1 1/3 Cup. uncooked regular long grain rice 1 1/3 Cup. water
Cook bacon until crisp. Add pepper, onion and celery,cook 2-3 minutes or until crisp tender. With slotted spoon transfer to crockpot. Sprinkle thighs with 1 t. of the Cajun seasoning. Place in skillet and cook 4-5 minutes or until browned on both sides. Arrange chicken and any drippings over vegetables in crockpot. Pour tomatoes over chicken. Stir in remaining Cajun seasoning. Cover and cook on low 8-9 hours. About 30 minutes before serving, cook rice according to package directions Serve chicken over rice.
