Crock pot recipes for HOT SUMMER NIGHTS

Crock Pot Chilibeans
2 pounds ground round, browned and drained
2 cans kidney beans (15 ounces each) , canned,
2 cans (14.5 ounces each) whole tomatoes, chopped
4 tablespoons chili powder
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 teaspoons ground ***in powder
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons tabasco sauce
1 tablespoon oil
1 large onion, coarsely chopped
1/2 cup water

Brown and drain ground round in skillet.
Combine all ingredients in slow cooker and mix thoroughly.
Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
Goes well with grated Sharp Cheddar Cheese sprinkled on top.
Can be frozen and then reheated in a sauce pan later in the week for quick dinners.

This is a good recipe because it's simple, with ingredients that anyone would have in their pantry ...except for the wine, could that be substituted for something else?

Kona Chicken
2 (2 pound) broiler chickens, quartered
1/2 cup chopped green onion
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup dry white wine
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup honey


1/2 cup crushed pineapple
ground black pepper to taste

Place chicken quarters into a slow cooker.
Stir together the green onion, soy sauce, white wine, pineapple,water,
honey and pepper in a cup or small bowl.
Pour over the chicken.
Cover, and cook on high for 4 hours.
